Primal Hatch
Primal Hatch dinosaur hatching from a cracked egg in the desert

The hatch, frame by frame

We're Primal Hatch — hatch it, raise it, decide what it becomes

Millions of years in the making, Primal Hatch lets you hatch and raise your very own prehistoric creature. Tap a Jurassic World T-Rex out of its egg and train it with the clicker, wake a Megalodon shark in a fizzing lab tank, or inject Primal DNA into a Hybrid Hatchers egg. Every hatch is real, every dinosaur is interactive — and whether it turns out friendly or fierce is up to you.

Frames from the Jurassic World T-Rex. The others hatch their own way: Megalodon Shark Egg: water-activated fizz, repeatable; Hybrid Hatchers Mystery Egg: water injected with a syringe. Meet all four eggs ↓

What parents ask before the first hatch

Q1What does the Primal Hatch do?
A Primal Hatch egg really hatches. You tap, water or inject it, the shell cracks open on its own and an interactive prehistoric creature comes out — a Jurassic World T-Rex, a Megalodon shark or a mystery hybrid dino.
Q2Does Primal Hatch only hatch once?
The Jurassic World T-Rex shell hatches once, then the fun moves to training. The Megalodon can be rinsed, dried and reset to hatch again and again.
Q3How do you do the Primal Hatch egg?
For the T-Rex, pull the tabs and tap the top of the egg repeatedly until it cracks. For the Megalodon, put the egg in the tank and add water. For Hybrid Hatchers, scan the egg, fill the syringe with water and inject it.
Q4What age is Primal Hatch for?
All of our hatching eggs are made for kids aged 5 and up.

Perfect for 5 year old boy

We bought this for my son for his 5 year old birthday. It was a whole family bonding experience watching the shark "hatch". I like that once it comes out you can actually play with the shark like a normal toy. It is great quality and makes the coolest noises. My son thinks this is the best gift of his birthday, it is so fun for a 5 year old boy! I feel like it was worth the money, the shark looks super realistic once it comes out.

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I got one for my 3 year olds birthday and he loved it! His older sister liked it so much I had to order her one as well because they were fighting over this dinosaur! The instructions were clear and easy to follow, the dinosaur REALLY does hatch and that was my favorite part even as an adult it was fun! It’s not loud when you’re playing with it, decent size, pretty durable but can pull off tail but no problem putting it back on. SUPER CUTE!!! Great gift for any dinosaur lover!

An adorable gift for curious kids, perfect for open-ended play

This guy was a huge hit with my 5 year old goddaughter and her friends. The hatching process captivated her, and dino has become a favorite toy. He’s inspired science experiments, gone on backyard adventures, and been part of lots of imaginative play. (He’s held up well to outdoor summer playtime.) I think this would be a great gift for any kid. For the grownups, it’s adorable to watch dino get involved in all kinds of play. This is truly a special toy.

Not just for boys! My daughter loves this toy!!

We got this hatching megalodon shark toy in July and am surprised that it is still one of the first toys my 8 year old daughter takes out to show her friends when they come over to play. She thinks it’s so cool (and honestly, so do her friends!!) I think it’s kind of gross and noisy but that’s a big part of the appeal for kids! The shark is way larger than it seems like it would be from size of the hatch tank. It’s easy to get the shark back into the egg which is a huge relief. She also has a couple of the dinosaur’s from the Primal Hatch line, but this shark is her favorite by far because the hatching part is so exciting and fun to watch. The shark itself has held up well to lots of play and I haven’t had to replace the batteries yet. Well worth it!! This would definitely make an awesome holiday or birthday present.

    Grandson loves it!

Purchased this for my 4 year old grandson’s birthday. He’s been talking about it and waiting for it for a month since he picked it out. It was the first present he opened. We all thought it was fascinating, watching it hatch cracking through the shell. He hasn’t put it down since or even thought about the other gifts. The dinosaur is adorable, and quite durable. The directions on the other hand, let’s just say thank goodness for the cardboard ones with the pictures. I am 100% pleased with this purchase.

    Fun Hatch-and-Train Dinosaur Toy

This is an exciting toy for kids who love dinosaurs. The hatching experience is the standout feature—children tap the egg repeatedly and watch it crack open as the baby T-Rex emerges through the membrane. It feels much more engaging than simply opening a box and taking out a figure. Once hatched, the dinosaur responds to touch, feeding, petting, startling, and the included clicker. With more than 100 sounds and reactions, there are plenty of ways for kids to interact with it. The toy is durable, holding up well to rough play. The hatching process can be a little messy, and the repeated tapping may require patience from younger children. The toy also uses three AA batteries. Still a good deal for the price. Overall, this is a good gift for a Jurassic World fan. It combines the excitement of unboxing with interactive play that can continue after the egg has opened. Recommended for dinosaur-loving kids.

Hatching dinosaur egg toys that really hatch

A real hatch, start to finish

Most dinosaur egg toys are a box with a figure inside. A Primal Hatch egg is a sealed specimen that hatches in front of you. The Jurassic World T-Rex cracks its own shell after a run of taps and climbs out through goo. The Megalodon wakes in a tank of fizzing red water. Hybrid Hatchers crack open the moment you inject the DNA. Kids do not unwrap these toys — they hatch them.

Train your dinosaur to be friend or foe

The hatch is only the first minute. Our interactive T-Rex has more than 100 sounds and reactions, and the clicker and food accessory let kids train it. Feed it, pet it, call it back with a click and it grows into a loyal companion; tease and startle it and it becomes a fierce predator. The same baby dinosaur can turn out completely different in two homes.

Which Primal Hatch egg should you pick?

For a big birthday reveal, choose the Jurassic World T-Rex — Gen 1 with its sandy shell and steak, or Gen 2 with the pink gel shell and glowing green eyes. For kids who love sharks and slime, the Megalodon brings the biggest creature and a hatch you can repeat. For first-time hatchers, collectors and party bags, Hybrid Hatchers are the small mystery eggs with more than 10 species to find. Every egg is made for ages 5 and up.
